Employment Tribunals
For both wrongful and unfair dismissal cases, acting for either Employer or Employee, we offer an initial consultation at a fixed fee of £250.00 + VAT.
Beyond the initial consultation, in general, legal fees are charged on an hourly basis at the rates set out below and which appear in our Litigation Department’s terms and conditions. The rates are updated in February each year.
Legal fees for acting on your behalf for wrongful dismissal cases are likely to range between £500.00 and £2,000.00 + VAT, depending on whether the matter concludes in an early negotiation or proceeds to a hearing.
Legal fees for acting on your behalf for unfair dismissal cases are likely to range between £1,000.00 and £5,000.00 + VAT, depending on whether the matter concludes in an early negotiation or proceeds to a hearing.

These rates may be revised in urgent or unusually complex matters. An uplift for weekend, Bank Holiday and late night working may apply. You will receive notification of all such changes prior
to any work being commenced. If the firm has to incur additional wages and expenses for our support staff having to work overtime in order to service such work then we reserve the right to
include such wages and expenses as a separate item on any invoice delivered to you.
The firm may call upon other partners, solicitors, trainees and clerks to assist the Legal Representative in the conduct of your matter.
Wrongful dismissal cases usually take around 3 months to conclude and unfair dismissal cases around 6 months if they proceed to a hearing, but the matter could conclude at any time before that period in a negotiated settlement.
The range of fees should be the same when acting for the employer or the employee.
The only additional fee would be counsel’s fees if the matter proceeds to a hearing. Depending on the seniority of the barrister and length of hearing, counsel’s fees are likely to range between £500.00 and £2,500.00 + VAT.
